This is a video taken of a Grasshopper workstation used in the media server lab. This particular lab session was dedicated to creating content for a 48' x 14' LED video wall in the Live Venue at Full Sail University. This venue presents the final concert lab for the students in the Show Production and Touring program. The artist for our final student show was Rushour, a Rush tribute band. I introduced the concept for the introduction of the show that is reminiscent of Rush's "Time Machine Tour". I created the audio content using a MIDI keyboard, loops, and effects in Logic Pro. I created the media server content using a Creative Commons photograph (the power plant) and video content and effects that are available in Zookeeper. The various layers were locked to the audio in the timeline. This concept was presented to the Video Wall Director (I was the Lighting Director). The finished product did not turn out exactly as I designed it, but I was able to take a video of my content on the test monitor with my phone.
This video shows some of the final results of the concept that I presented to the Video Wall Director. Communication issues with the band resulted in the need for this video clip being edited, losing some key elements from the original concept. The Video Wall Director also had technical issues with interfacing the Hippotizer with the 1st generation MA console, so the sequence of video layers and effects that were programmed in the Zookeeper timeline ended up being controlled manually with a MIDI interface. The Video Wall Director also selected a different font and look for the band's introduction.
